Discovery Senior Living is looking for a Director of Devlopment to join our home office team in Bonita Springs, FL.
POSITION SUMMARYAs a key member of an entrepreneurial team, the Director of Development will report to the Division President and will work collaboratively with other members of the Company's team.
RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the Division's development function.
Key responsibilities include project and resource scheduling and allocation, management of direct reports (Development Associates/ Development Managers/ Development Analysts), and implementation of best practices in project delivery and communications.
Act as project executive for multiple large ($50M+) development projects under concurrent development.
In that role, Director has overall responsibility for design, budget, and schedule for the project and is supported by a Development Manager/ Project Manager for each project, who handles the day-to-day aspects of the projects Where appropriate and necessary, manage day-to-day aspects of large ($50M+) development projects.
In this role, Director will interface with and direct key members of the development team (consultants, contractors, vendors, etc.
) Participate in new development and acquisition evaluation process.
In this role, Director will contribute to the Development Team's work in conducting feasibility studies, creating proformas and development budgets, and creating investment models for potential new development projects and acquisitions.
As part of this collaborative effort, Director will be responsible for any conceptual design and preliminary development budgeting.
Participate in the Company's monthly meetings, which includes senior officers from community operations, sales and marketing, finance and accounting, and the development teams.
In this role the Director helps the Company establish and maintain the Company culture, direct the long-term growth strategies of the Company, and pursue new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation/
Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
10
years of ground-up development project management experience, preferably in multi-family, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
Progression of project management accomplishments.
Experience as Development Manager/ Owner's Representative for Real Estate Developers preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
